Appointment of our IP expert to OAPI-centric committee

We are proud to announce that Isabelle MBOME from our affiliated office of Ekémé Lysaght SARL has been appointed as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Denis Ekani Intellectual Property Academy (APIDE).  This Academy was set up in 2004 with the purpose of running OAPI training programs in the field of IP for businesses, attorneys, universities and schools in the OAPI member states, as well as actively participating in the management of a Master II Program in IP law.  It has also been instrumental in coordinating research in the field of IP by Master students and university professors, and publishing the results of that research.

Isabelle’s appointment to the committee will enable her to contribute to the training of specialist human resources and the sharing of knowledge in the field of IP, and to gain a valuable insight into developments that occur in legal and practical aspects of IP at OAPI.   For instance, the Academy recently brought together 14 intellectual property professionals from the OAPI member states with the aim of preparing them for the new procedures applicable for the protection of inventions and utility models under the revised Bangui Agreement and the new official fee schedules, which came into force on 1st January 2025.
